Piper was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Her father, Clyde Klotz, is Canadian and worked in art direction and production design. Her mother, Gillian Anderson, was born in Chicago and later spent significant portions of her life in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

Piper Maru Klotz’s Parents

Piper’s parents are Gillian Anderson and Clyde Klotz.

Gillian Anderson

Gillian Anderson is an acclaimed actress best known for portraying Dana Scully in The X-Files. The role became one of the defining performances of her career and helped establish the series as a major television phenomenon.

She later appeared in numerous television, film and stage productions, including The Fall, The Crown and Sex Education.

Anderson’s successful acting career naturally made Piper a recognizable celebrity child, but Piper ultimately chose a different professional direction.

Clyde Klotz

Clyde Klotz is a Canadian art director and production designer who worked on The X-Files.

His career in visual production is especially relevant to Piper’s own interests because she eventually pursued art and design. Her professional direction therefore has a notable connection to both sides of her family background.

Gillian Anderson and Clyde Klotz married in 1994 and divorced in 1997. Piper is their only child together.

Does Piper Maru Klotz Have Siblings?
